Economic denationalization as an antidote against populism

Enviado por mivickas el

Populism and Latin America, especially Argentina, are very good friends. Since the Great Depression, a shock from which the country has been unable to recover, Argentina is a classic example of Populism. Her economic decline for the last eighty years attests in this sense. As Populism is a hybrid of interventionist policies that go away and come again according to circumstances, in the long run, this non-system is possibly more harmful than Socialism. Public opinion becomes too baffled to find Populism guilty of economic failure.

Enviado por mivickas el

The purpose of this review is to evaluate the status of scholarly research on Japanese management as it is applied outside Japan. The first part of the review deals with the concept of Japanese management. The second part aims at understanding how Japanese management is applied in foreign countries, both at subsidiaries of Japanese corporations and in non-Japanese firms; in particular, the issue of transferability of concepts and techniques is considered in detail. Primarily EBSCO databases were used, but other sources were consulted as well.

Multiplicative models of financial returns an what we fail to get when they are disregarded

Enviado por mivickas el

This paper puts forward an alternative approach to multiplicative models and their assessment of returns out of financial assets. Firstly, it lays down an operative definition but also sets forth a commutative framework of mappings to provide foundations to such a definition. Next, the total return is split down into its linear and non-linear building blocks. Afterwards, a compatibility lemma draws a distinction between what should be meant by linear approximation and linear equivalence to the multiplicative model.

On the existence of the true value of a probability. Part I: determinism versus aleatorism

Enviado por mivickas el

Objetivist models are based on the deterministic hypothesis that postulates the existence of probability, which is cognoscible only in an asymptotic manner. On the other hand, subjectivist models consider the aleatoristic hypothesis according to which there is no truth about probability. However, both hypotheses may only be compared through stochastic models, which are not strictly falsifiable.

On the existence of the true value of a probability. Part 2: the representation theorem and the ergodic theory

Some authors, basing their ideas on the exchangeability property, on the postulates of the representation theorem and on its interpretation in the ambit of ergodic theory, believed to find a counterexample to the subjectivist model through the theoretical justification of the existence of an objective probability.
